Beauty salon treatments in the investment column

Deep down I am still very Swedish for certain things. I'm not used to going to a beauty salon. If something needs to be done, my first instinct is to do it myself. My French girlfriends see things in a quite different way.  Taking care of yourself is seen as an investment, not an expense.

There is, of course, a beauty salon in our little village. You can get rid of hair in different places, do facial treatments, massages or get your nails done. The salon is full most of the time, because French women don't need the excuse of a wedding invitation or a birthday party to go there. They consider the cost as money well spent. A woman NEEDS to invest in her well being and beauty! You can see this in the French language, where there are many words that all mean spoil yourself - gâter, dorloter, bichonner, pomponner, se chouchouter....

Be a little bit French today. Go spoil yourself! And remember to put down the expense in the column for investments.
